migRaven Update: The most important new features in the summer release
We are pleased to present you the latest updates and bug fixes in migRaven. The Update to version number 8.1.24126.1 brings significant improvements that focus on the flexibility and usability of our software.
The most important innovations
With the new search bar in the migRaven web interface, we enable efficient and intuitive searches for directories. Administrators can search all directories, while data owners can access all directories they manage. Users also receive navigation suggestions, e.g. opening the authorization management or the data owner management. This quick access saves time and simplifies the management of the directories. You can find all information about the new search here.
Other innovations include:
- The multi-select selection of projects enables cross-project evaluations for the first time in the file type analysis and the obsolete data analysis
- Selecting specific groups when creating project folders
- The renaming of two of our reports:
- Best practice analysis becomes “authorization analysis”
- Authorization report becomes “Account Authorization Report”
- Home page for data owners is now user dependent.
By default, the “My Folders” page is displayed when logging in. If a data owner has assigned tasks, the “Task Management” page is displayed as the home page.
The new release also includes some improvements, such as:
- Easier permission assignment to Active Directory groups
- Assigning permissions to Foreign Security Principal (FSP) accounts
Do you already know our Desktop client? There are also some improvements for you here:
- Display of all archived folders in a separate directory in “My Folders”
- Display of all authorized users for a “My Folders” folder in the folder properties
The update includes important fixes to existing features
We have also fixed numerous bugs to improve the usability, reliability and performance of migRaven.
The newest task in the system monitor now always appears first, based on the creation date. This ensures greater clarity and efficiency in directory management.
Additionally, an issue that allowed users to create a folder without explicit permissions has been fixed. In the future, such changes will only be possible with the appropriate permissions.
Interesting for admins: File handles are now closed during resource scanning, making file editing faster and more efficient and reducing the number of file locks.
